The name 'Hathikuli' is composed of the two words: 'Hati' which means elephant, and 'kuli' which means often. The Hathikuli tea garden is close to Kaziranga National Park and is often visited by roaming elephants. The young shoots are carefully plucked by hand from Clonal shrubs and immediately steamed, gently rolled and dried. Once done, this organically grown green tea is ready to be brewed and display its noble characteristics. An open and wiry leaf is rather atypical for Assam teas and has a matte, light green iridescent color. This is a beautiful, fresh tea that remains faithful to its Assam roots.
